Before purchasing this Windows 7 PC, I had a Windows XP desktop with the ADS Tech DVD Xpress DX2 CapWiz software by ADS Tech. This software is used to capture, edit and create videos. I used it to capture VHS tape contents to CDs. I tried to use it on my new computer, but I receive "CAP2001---The USB diver for CapWiz has not been installed. CapWiz will not be able to preview or record video without a compatible USB driver" error message. What can I do?

Unfortunately, the ADS Tech DVD Xpress DX2 CapWiz software has been developed by ADS Technologies to run only on Windows XP an below platforms. Also, its drivers are not compatible with your new computer. You can try installing the software using the Program Compatibility troubleshooter. If this doesn't help, I suggest you try applications like Golden Videos or VHS2DVD Wizard.
I have ADS Tech Video Xpress CapWiz 3.1 and I need USBAV-701 software. I cannot get the unit to be seen using version 3.5 or later. Can you help?

Unfortunately, there isn't an official resource available to download the software, but you can find and download it using Google search engine. The latest version of the utility is ADS USBAV-701 7.01. Once you download it, connect the device to your computer using the USB cable and launch the installation package.

The application is discontinued and removed from development, however, the only way to acquire versions of it is through Google. Access Google Search and search on the listed websites because it's possible one or two of them still have it hosted. Registration is also not possible because of this.

Unfortunately, ADS Tech DVD Xpress has been discontinued and it is no longer supported, but you can use Google search engine to find and download the software. Once you download it, plug in your device using the USB cable and from the pop-up window select to install software for the device. If you are asked if you want to allow the utility to find the drivers on Internet, do not allow it. After that, press Browse My Computer for Driver Software, click Let Me Pick from a list of Device Drivers, navigate to the downloaded files, open them, click Next and follow the instructions. After the process is complete, reboot the computer.

You need to empty the Recycle Bin as well to completely free up the spate on your drive. Deleting from the application automatically places the files in the Recycle Bin. Since the Recycle Bin is used for all the partitions in your computer, right click it from the desktop and then select Empty. Additionally, install CCleaner and run the Cleaner module to delete all the temporary files. This should do the trick and free the space on your computer.
